About
Ash Mathradas learned the value of passive income early in life. After losing his father in 1980, Ash saw firsthand how rental income helped his mother regain financial stability. That experience shaped his lifelong commitment to building resilient, cash-flowing investments.
With over 30 years of experience in corporate executive roles and private equity consulting, Ash brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and operational execution. His background includes 20 years in corporate leadership and more than a decade as a management consulting partner.
Ash is also the founder of Immigrant Capital, a social enterprise that helps immigrants in Texas secure mortgages while generating passive monthly income. Though that business is currently self-sustaining, it may eventually raise capital soon under the Covered Capital umbrella.
Ash is known for his conservative investment philosophy. He prioritizes downside protection and capital preservation—hence the name Covered Capital. His focus is on the return of capital, not just the return on capital. Unlike many private equity players who chase flashy upside, Ash is committed to modest, consistent returns and protecting investor principal.
The Fund: Freedom Number Focus
Covered Capital is designed around a simple but powerful idea: monthly cash flow equals freedom. Ash believes that while 90% of a portfolio should be in long-term buy-and-hold forever stock market investments, the remaining 10% should be allocated to monthly cash-flowing assets. These investments help offset ongoing expenses and move investors closer to their “freedom number”—the amount of monthly income needed to cover essential living costs.
Key features of the fund include:
▴
Substantial Sponsor Commitment: Ash will co-invest over $1 million of his own capital and plans to reinvest all post-tax profits, ensuring alignment with investors.
▴
Cash Flow First: The fund targets monthly income, not speculative gains. Only recurring monthly cash flow counts toward the freedom number.
▴
Lifestyle Business Model: This is not a growth-at-all-costs fund. Ash intends to run it as a lifestyle business, working 2–4 hours a day from anywhere in the world.
▴
Substantial Sponsor Commitment: Ash will co-invest over $1 million of his own capital and plans to reinvest all post-tax profits, ensuring alignment with investors.
▴
Selective Investor Base: Investors are invited to join. If someone isn’t a good fit, their capital will be returned—an uncommon practice in private equity.
This fund isn’t about building an empire. It’s about building freedom—one month at a time.
Happy monthly cash flowing.
